Hold the silicone product with your hands, focus on one spot, and then pull hard to both sides. If there is white, it is ordinary silicone, and if there is no white, it is food-grade silicone.

1. The main method of identification is that visual inspection is very simple and practical. It turns white when pulled up and has a pungent odor. It can be concluded that it is ordinary silica gel, which does not meet the food-grade standard.

2. Note that the silica gel does not turn white when pulled up, but it also has a slight smell. It is also food-grade, because it is produced in the production process of the manufacturer, does not affect the quality of the product, and can also be eliminated by itself.

Smell:

Put your nose close to the silicone product and smell it. If it is pulled white and has a pungent smell, it can be concluded that it is ordinary silicone, not food-grade.

Food grade silicone is platinum vulcanized, with high elasticity, high transparency and high tear strength. Regular silicone has a smell and is opaque. Food-grade silicone is in line with environmental protection requirements such as ROHS. Best silicone products have passed the product certification of the US FDA and EU LFGB food inspection. They have no pungent smell and can be in contact with food-related things. Of course, it is different from food-grade silica gel. Food-grade silica gel must have FDA and other relevant certifications, and can directly contact food. Many ordinary silica gels are not food-grade certified.
